Some HyPet machines have encountered communication alarms. A PROFIBUS repeater
installed between A20P and A72P will increase signal strength and make the Profibus network more stable. This procedure explains how to install the PROFIBUS repeater.

Description
Profibus repeater kit — containing the following:•DIN rail (100mm) — qty. 1•M5 Flat washers — qty. 2•M5x10 BHCS — qty. 2•Profibus repeater — qty. 1•Blue wire — qty. 10 meters
•Green/Yellow wire — qty. 5 meters•18 awg femules — qty. 20
Special Tools Required:
•N/A
1.Perform Lockout/Tagout. Refer to Machine Manual
for details.
WARNING!
Complete Lockout/Tagout of all energy sources in accordance with applicable local codes before performing
maintenance activities. Failure to do so can result in injury or death.

IMPORTANT!
Refer to the electrical schematic supplied with this procedure for all electrical information.
2.Open the electrical cabinet and locate the following:
a.PROFIBUS filter - A72Pb.Mold Heat bus coupler - A20Pc.The cable between A20P and A72P.
3.The cable between A20P and A72P will be cut and
connected to the repeater (Figure1, item 6). Therefore, mount the repeater closer to A72P.

NOTE:An ideal location for mounting the repeater
would be on the divider plate between the mold heat section of the cabinet and the main section. 4.Mount the repeater with the 9 pin connector (item
5) on the left hand side.5.Cut the cable between A20P and A72P and connect
as per the electrical schematic.

IMPORTANT!
Make sure the shield is clamped under the metal clamp.
6.Set all 3 switches (item 1) on the repeater (item 6) to
the ON position.

7.Connect the supply wiring as per the electrical
schematic (24vdc, 0vdc and ground).8.Double check the wiring.

59.Remove the locks and tags.10.Power up machine.
