Activity One Warming up and leading in

1. Free talk 2. Look and say 3. Learn some new words 1.Free talk: What day is it today? What day was it yesterday? How is the weather today? What animals do you like?

2.T. Today we’ll talk about the lion and the mouse. Look at the lion, can you describe it? Teach: large, strong T. How about the mouse ? Teach: small, weak

Activity Two Presentation and practice

1.T. Now we’ll read a story about the lion and the mouse. Read : Unit 1 The lion and the mouse

2.T. Before we read the story , I’ll ask you a question: Who woke the lion up ? Teach: wake—woke; wake up

1.Answer the question: Who woke the lion up? 2.Do exercise 3.Look and read 1

S. Do exercise : My mother ___ me __ every morning. One day, the mouse ___ the lion ___ . 3.Look and read

S. Read the story by themselves. Teach: large and strong; small and weak
