Writing on the Message Board
Hi! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about writing on the message board at my school. The message board is this big board near the main entrance where students can write whatever they want. It's really fun!
When I first started at this school a couple years ago, I didn't really know what the message board was for. I would walk by it every day and see all these messages written in different handwriting, some neat and some really messy. There were messages about lost items, announcements for clubs and activities, little drawings, and even some jokes written up there. It looked like a big colorful mess to me at first.
But then my teacher Ms. Martin explained to our class that the message board was a place where we could write anything on our minds, as long as it followed the school rules of being respectful and appropriate. She said writing messages on the
board was a great way to communicate with everyone at school. That's when I realized how cool it could be.
The first thing I ever wrote on the message board was a happy birthday message to my best friend Sara. On her birthday, I woke up extra early before school and got to the board right away. With a big green marker, I wrote \"HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY SARA! YOU'RE THE BEST FRIEND EVER!\" in huge letters across the board. When Sara got to school, she saw it right away and gave me a big hug. She was so surprised and happy! Writing that message made me feel really good.
After that, I started writing all sorts of messages whenever I could. If I lost a pencil case or water bottle, I'd put a note up to ask if anyone had found it. When we were learning about planets in science class, I drew some pictures of the planets and labeled them on the board to help me study. One time, I even put up a riddle that I made up to see if anyone could solve it!
But my favorite kinds of messages are the fun and creative ones. Sometimes, I'll decorate the board for an upcoming holiday like Halloween or Christmas with drawings and messages about it. Or I'll write out the lyrics to my favorite song so everyone can sing along. My friend Jack is really good at drawing cartoons, so he's posted some of his cartoon drawings on there
before. Seeing everyone's creativity and different messages always puts a smile on my face.
Using the message board has also helped me work on my handwriting, which my teacher says is important. At first, my handwriting was pretty sloppy when I'd write in a hurry. But the more I practiced writing on the board, the neater my handwriting got. Now I can write much more neatly and clearly so everyone can easily read my messages.
Of course, you have to follow the rules for the message board, just like anything else at school. You can't write rude or inappropriate things, and you have to respect what others have written too. If there are important announcements from teachers or the principal, you can't write over those. And sometimes the board gets too full and the custodians have to start fresh by erasing everything. That's always a little sad to see all the messages get wiped away, but then we just get to fill it up with new messages again!
Writing on the message board has been one of my favorite things about going to this school so far. It's a great way to express myself, share information and be creative. Whenever I'm bored in the hallway or need to put something out there, I know I can just grab a marker and get writing. Maybe I'll draw a comic,
write a joke, or leave an inspirational quote for everyone! Who knows what messagess I'll write next?
I really appreciate that my school values letting students write on the message board. It makes me feel like they respect our voices and ideas. The board brings a fun, creative spirit to our school. Every time I look at all the colorful messages, drawings and notes, I feel a sense of community and personality from my fellow students. I hope message boards can be a tradition at schools for many years to come. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to run - I have a new message I need to write!

My Awesome Message Board
Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about my favorite thing - the message board at school! It's sooooo cool and I just love writing on it. Our teacher puts up a big piece of paper on the wall every Monday morning, and we can write whatever we want on it during the whole week. Isn't that awesome?
At first, I didn't really know what to write. The board was just blank and boring. But then my friend Johnny wrote \"Johnny was here!\" and I thought that was a great idea. So I wrote my name too - \"Sarah was here too!\" Hehehe!
After that, the message board became super fun. Everyone started leaving little notes and doodles. Carlos drew a funny looking monster. Emma wrote \"I lost my pink hair clip, has anyone seen it?\" And Tommy left the punchline to a joke but didn't write the actual joke part! What a silly billy.
By Tuesday, the board was almost full. There were drawings of rainbows, aliens, puppies, and more. Lots of jokes and riddles too. My favorite was \"What did one wall say to the other wall? I'll get plastered later!\" Haha! So silly.
I decided to write a longer message on Wednesday. I told everyone all about my awesome weekend. How I went to the park and played on the swings. How I ate pizza for dinner. And how I built a cool fort out of blankets and pillows in my basement. Describing all the fun details took up like half the board!
Then on Thursday, there was a big drama. Someone (I won't say who) wrote something not very nice about our teacher Ms. Jenkins. It said \"Ms. Jenkins is smelly!\" When she saw it, Ms. Jenkins didn't get mad though. She just laughed and said \"Who wrote this? I just took a bath last night!\" We all laughed too. Except Billy, who was the one that wrote it. He looked a little embarrassed.
By Friday, there was hardly any room left on the board. It was completely covered in messages, doodles, jokes and games like tic-tac-toe and hangman. I loved reading everything that everyone wrote. It was so cool to see what was on my friends' minds all week.
On Friday afternoon, the best part happened. Our teacher gathered us all around the message board and we took turns reading parts of it out loud. We laughed at the jokes and silly pictures. We tried to solve the riddles and brainstormed ideas for the stories that people started writing. It was like the message board came alive and brought us all together.
After we read the whole thing, Ms. Jenkins said we could each take one message home with us as a memory. I picked Carlos's funny monster drawing because it always makes me smile. Seeing his cute little doodle still makes me laugh out loud! Now it's Sunday night and I'm getting ready for another fun message board week tomorrow. I can't wait to see what crazy stuff ends up on the board this time. A new message board is like a blank canvas waiting to be covered in creativity, personality and friendship. Whatever gets written or drawn on it, I know it will make me smile!
The message board teaches me that words and art have power. Our little messages brought so much joy to each other and our classroom all week long. I feel really lucky that I get to explore this fun way of sharing writing, drawing and self-expression with my friends. It's the best!

My Favorite Thing to Do - Write on the Message Board! Do you know what my favorite thing at school is? It's when we get to write on the big message board in the hallway! I get so excited when my teacher says it's time for us to write new messages. Let me tell you all about it!
The message board is super big - it takes up almost the whole wall right outside our classroom door. It's covered in green paper with colorful borders all around the edges. At the very top in huge letters it says \"Wildcat Message Board\" because our school mascot is a wildcat. Pretty cool, right?
Writing time usually happens on Friday afternoons after we've finished all our other work for the week. Mrs. Thompson, my teacher, gets out a bunch of fat markers in different bright colors - red, blue, green, orange, yellow, and more. Then she calls us over to the big rug and we all sit down crisscross applesauce. \"Okay class, it's time to write some new messages on our board!\" she'll say with a big smile. We all cheer because we love message board time so much. Mrs. Thompson goes over the rules first - we have to write something positive and encouraging, nothing mean or inappropriate. Then she lets us pick out whichever color marker we want to use.
I usually go for red because it's my favorite color. I start thinking really hard about what fun or inspiring message I can write. Maybe a joke to make people laugh when they read it? Or I could write something about working hard and doing your best. Oh, I know! I'll write a message complimenting our school lunch ladies because they make such yummy food.
Once I have my message idea, I rush over to the board before all the good spaces get taken. I carefully uncap my red marker and think one more time - did I capitalize things right in my head? Am I spelling everything correctly? I double check, take a deep breath, and start writing in my neatest kid handwriting.
See, the message board is divided into a bunch of different sections by those colorful borders I mentioned before. Each section on the board is for messages about a different topic. There's a section for Writing Advice, one for Math Tips, spaces for Book Recommendations and Jokes. My favorite is the Just for Fun area where you can write any message you want as long as it's positive.
I'm writing my lunch ladies message in the Just for Fun spot. \"You are AWE-SOME lunch ladies! Thanks for the deLICIOUS food!\" That's what my red marker letters say when I finish. I step back and admire my handiwork, grinning from ear to ear. I always try to make my messages really bright, colorful, and eye-catching by making some letters super big and adding little doodles when I can.
Soon the whole message board is covered in a rainbow of new writing from all my classmates. Funny jokes, words of encouragement, book recommendations, math tips for adding and subtracting - you name it, it's all there in a crazy mix of colors and text. Mrs. Thompson judges our masterpiece and picks her three favorites to receive little prizes. More often than not, my messages win because I try so hard on them!
The best part is getting to read what everyone else wrote over the next few days and weeks. Whenever I'm lined up in the hallway or walking past the board, I stop and check out all the brand new messages. Sometimes they make me laugh out loud, sometimes I learn something new and helpful, and sometimes I just feel happier after reading what my friends wrote. Once the board is getting too full and messy, Mrs. Thompson lets us Clear it off and start fresh.
I really love our school's message board tradition. It's a way to be creative, share my thoughts and feelings, practice my writing skills, and spread joy and positivity all at the same time! Plus, I get to see what's on my classmates' minds too which is always interesting. We have so much fun with it every single week. I already can't wait for next Friday's message board time to come around!

Writing on the Message Board
Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about writing messages on the big message board we have in our classroom. The message board is that huge whiteboard at the front of the
class where we can use dry erase markers to write whatever we want! It's so much fun.
Every Monday morning, our teacher Mrs. Miller lets a few students go up and write messages, drawings, or anything else on the board. We get to be the first ones of the week to start a new message board! If you're one of the lucky ones who gets picked on Monday, here are some tips:
First, think about what kind of message you want to write. Do you want to draw a picture? Tell a funny joke? Write an inspiring quote? Share something exciting from your weekend? The message board is a great way to express yourself however you want!
Next, get your dry erase marker ready. We have a bunch of different colors to choose from. Will you go with a classic black marker or get creative with blue, green, or even red? Don't forget to cap your marker tightly when you're done so it doesn't dry out.
Now it's time to start writing or drawing! Take your time and move carefully so your letters or pictures look nice and neat. If you make a mistake, just wipe it away with the eraser and try again. Don't stress if it's not perfect though - that's part of the fun!
When you're finished with your message, be sure to sign your name at the bottom so everyone knows it was your awesome work. Give yourself a pat on the back because you did it!
The best part is that your message stays up all week long for the whole class to see. Your friends and classmates can read your jokes, be inspired by your quotes, and admire your artistic ability. Sometimes kids will even respond by writing another message right next to yours!
Throughout the week, Mrs. Miller lets more and more students go up and add new writings and drawings to the board. By Friday afternoon, the whole massive message board is completely filled up with a rainbow of colors and creative messages from everybody. It's such a cool way to see what's on everyone's minds.
But don't worry if your message gets covered up by newer ones. We wipe the whole board clean every Monday to start fresh. You'll get another chance to leave your mark soon enough. That's the beauty of the message board - it's always cycling through new messages from all of us students.
Writing on the classroom message board is one of my favorite activities. It lets us practice our handwriting, explore our
imagination, and share our personalities with each other. Pretty much anything goes as long as it's school-appropriate and treats others with kindness and respect.
I'll never forget the time Jimmy drew an awesome cartoon monster that took up almost the entire board. Or when Sophia wrote out all the lyrics to her favorite song. José always puts up the funniest jokes that make us crack up laughing. And sometimes Mrs. Miller will highlight an inspirational quote that teaches us an important lesson.
No matter what you decide to write or draw, just have fun with it! The message board gives you the freedom to express yourself however you want. It's a huge blank canvas waiting for you to make your mark with your own special message.
I really look forward to adding to the board myself next week. I'm thinking of writing out my top 10 favorite books or video games. Maybe I'll attempt a realistic drawing of my dog Buster. Or I could put up this year's school bus jokes that alwayscracked me up. So many possibilities!
At the end of the day, the message board belongs to all of us. It's our place as students to showcase our thoughts, feelings, talents and creativity for everyone to see. Whatever you contribute makes it that much more special.

Writing Messages on the Big Board
Hi friends! Today I want to tell you all about writing messages on the big message board in our classroom. The message board is that huge whiteboard at the front of the class where we can write whatever we want! Isn't that fun?
The best part is seeing all the cool messages and drawings that my classmates write up there. Some kids write jokes to try and make everyone laugh. Other times, people write nice messages saying how much they like their friends. And my favorite is when someone draws an awesome picture like a superhero or unicorn or rocket ship! The message board is always full of such creative and silly stuff.
Of course, I love getting a chance to write my own message on the big board too. Whenever it's my turn, I have to really think about what I want to say or draw. I take my time and try to come up with something entertaining that will make my friends smile
or laugh when they see it. Maybe I'll tell a funny story about my dog chasing a squirrel, or draw a goofy cartoon character making a silly face. No matter what, I want to put something up there that brightens everyone's day.
Writing on the message board is also a great way to share news or important information. Like if I have a big baseball game coming up, I can announce it so everyone knows. Or I can congratulate one of my friends on getting a role in the school play. We can even use the board to remind each other about things like test dates or holidays. By leaving these kinds of messages, we all stay informed about what's happening in our classroom community.
But we have to be responsible and follow some basic rules when using the message board. We can't write anything inappropriate or hurtful towards our classmates or teachers. That's bullying, and it's not cool at all. The board also shouldn't have any curse words or crude drawings - remember, we have to keep things kid-friendly! And of course, we're not allowed to damage the board itself by etching into it or something like that. As long as we follow those rules, the message board can be a fun space for all of us to express ourselves.
I think it's really awesome that we get to use the big message board. Not every classroom has one of those! It makes me feel proud of my teacher for letting us share our thoughts and creativity in that way. I enjoy walking in every morning and checking out the latest doodles and notes my friends left behind. It's like a little surprise waiting there for me!
Sure, the board gets wiped clean at the end of each week so we can start fresh. But there's always next week to fill it up again with more jokes, drawings, stories and messages. I can't wait for my next turn to write something brand new up there! Maybe I'll crack a hilarious pun about the cafeteria food. Or show off my artistic skills with a mind-blowing picture. Whatever I decide, I know it will make me and my classmates smile.
Writing on that big message board is one of the many fun things that makes our classroom so special. It allows us to express ourselves, share information, and let our creativity shine through. I feel lucky that I get to be a part of decorating that board with my words and ideas.
