【鸡黍之交】原文：

南北朝时（约公元420年），长安有个读书人名叫张籍。张籍字子荣，年轻时就学富五车，才华横溢，博闻强识，风采翩翩。

一天，他在家里读书，突然听到外面有人在说话：“我们那个村子的鸡黍，远近闻名。据说张籍就住在这儿，我要亲自品尝他家的鸡黍。”张籍一惊，立即找出自家最好的鸡黍款待客人。果然，来人连声赞叹不已：“这鸡黍煮得简直天下第一！”张籍问他：“请问你从哪里得知我家的鸡黍？难道我已成了街头巷尾的笑柄？”来人连忙作揖答道：“大者的雅言令人如沐春风，小者个个姿容英秀。”

夫鸡黍，久矣。盖《论语》言：“谷之奥如范，鸡黍在纯。” 自古人以来，鸡黍为汉文化传统之一。煮一大锅鸡黍，或粳米、或糯米，折脯、鸡醴添葱姜，散香十里。独具以盐，米味清雅，“熬然日有鸡黍。”此乃中华之精髓也。

故意到如今日。

张籍日常生活甚是艰辛，靠写诗文为生。在他看来，自己应当以学识和文采为人民服务。他常说：“我的才华就像一张勾玉一样，应当放在光明磨光。”

张籍深知鸡黍乃是民间小吃，与自己的才华显然不相称。因此，他在心中暗下决心，将来要以自己的才华和为民谋福利的志向，成为后人尊崇的文学家。

鸡黍逐渐成为张籍的寓意和象征。而后来的人们不止一次地提到“鸡黍之交”，形容人与人之间深厚的友情。

During the Northern and Southern Dynasties period (around 420 AD), there was a scholar named Zhang Ji in Chang'an. Zhang Ji, whose style name was Zirong, was exceptionally talented and well-educated. One day, while he was studying at home, he overheard someone outside saying, \"The chicken and millet porridge from our village is famous far and wide. It is said that Zhang Ji lives here, and I want to taste it for myself.\" Startled, Zhang Ji immediately prepared his best

chicken and millet porridge to serve the guest. As expected, the visitor praised it highly, saying, \"This porridge is truly the best in the world!\" Surprised, Zhang Ji asked how the visitor knew about his porridge, fearing that he had become a laughingstock. The visitor quickly replied with a bow, \"Your elegant speech and demeanor have earned the respect of all.\"

Chicken and millet porridge has been a long-standing tradition in Chinese culture. According to the Analects of Confucius, \"Millets are the best grains, and chicken and millet porridge is the purest.\" Since ancient times, the porridge has been a symbol of Chinese culture. Cooked with either polished or glutinous rice, mixed with chicken breast and seasoned with salt, the aroma spreads for miles. Its simplicity and pure flavor embody the essence of Chinese cuisine.

However, for Zhang Ji, life was tough, and he had to make a living by writing poetry and essays. He believed that his talent should be used to serve the people. He often said, \"My talent should shine like polished jade.\"

Realizing that chicken and millet porridge was just a simple folk dish and not befitting of his talent, Zhang Ji made a vow to use his skills to serve the people and become a respected literary figure.

As time went by, chicken and millet porridge became a symbol and metaphor for Zhang Ji, and later generations used the phrase \"chicken and millet porridge friendship\" to describe deep and lasting friendships between individuals.
