在初高中英语中经常出现的一.修饰可数名词：

1)many，a great／good many，a great／large／small number of，scores of，dozens of。

eg: There are many people in the park.

2)Many a／an,也表“很/许多的+可名单，谓动用单数。

3) the amount of．．．作主语，谓动用单。1arge amounts of．．．作主语，谓动复。记忆技巧：much，本身不可数；三、修饰可/不可数名词均可：

deal，amount都是\"量”，没法量。所以加不可数

A lot of／Lots of people可数went swimming yesterday．A lot of／Lots of work不可数

We have plenty of cakes可数．Take some more．Don't hurry．There is plenty of time不可数．2) a lot.

@用作n，表示“很多，多数”。He knew a lot about it. @用作adv，修饰adj.和v，表示“非常，相当”。

He is feeling a lot better today．/She laughed a lot．她笑得很厉害。3)注意a quantity of的谓动。+不n,谓动单；+可n复，谓动复。

A small quantity of water is needed．There are a large quantity of flowers in the garden．

4)great／large quantities of+。+不n/+可n复，谓动都复。Large quantities of food were on the table．

记忆技巧：lot，plenty，quantity他们本身自己都是集合名词，包容性好，所以二者皆可。
